Thermal Vacuum Chamber (TVAC) Operator

@Orchard, LLC is seeking a TVAC Chamber Operator.  This role will be based in Palo Alto, CA.  In this role, you provide thermal vacuum test support for space flight hardware, including subsystem and spacecraft acceptance testing.

The Main Role of the TVAC Chamber Operator is operating and maintaining TVAC test Chambers. This includes adjusting chamber settings, monitoring chamber pressure, temperature and other gauges, regulating liquid nitrogen (LN2) flows, and tuning chamber heaters. In between tests, you assist with maintenance activities to keep the facilities and equipment operating smoothly.

In addition, the TVAC Chamber Operator prepares the spacecraft and the test facility for TVAC Testing. You install test instruments, such as thermocouples, test heaters & calorimeters. Perform checkouts of heaters, TC's & Calorimeters to insure proper operation prior to testing. You will also assist with mechanical, electrical, and LN2 connections and perform leak checks on LN2 lines. All of these tasks promote successful TVAC test outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Provide spacecraft level thermal vacuum test support
• Monitor chamber performance and testing
• Perform chamber preventative maintenance activities
• Provide support to mechanical, electrical and RF teams

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident
• Minimum of 4 years of related work experience
• HS Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

• A&P certificate

The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.

● The base pay for this position within California is: $27.60 - $46.00 hourly.
