Technical Coordinator - NOAA programs

Remote within the East Coast US.

 

Orchard LLC is seeking an experienced Technical Coordinator to support complex modeling and cloud activities for the NOAA National Ocean Service (NOS) program. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting NOAA programs that involve prediction, modeling, and/or data analysis. This position is contingent upon contract award.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and document annual project requirements, specific tasks, and key milestones in line with allocated funding and performance timelines.
  • Contribute directly to the project repository by testing features and resolving technical issues alongside the development team.
  • Create promotional materials and lead product demonstrations or technical updates at major scientific and industry conferences.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for user requests, ensuring all community feedback and new requirements are captured in the project tracking system

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in a scientific or engineering field (Oceanography, Marine Science, Hydrology, Environmental Science, or similar).
  • 2-3 years of professional experience leading scientific/marine/environmental observation projects.
  • Familiarity with NOAA programs is required. Prefer experience supporting mapping, modeling, marine science, and environmental data collection projects.
  • Proficiency with open-source tools such as GitHub.
