  • Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, provide feedback, and ensure product quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Documentation: Create clear and concise documentation for deployment processes, especially for on-prem, disconnected environments.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of platform and DevOps processes, tools, and methodologies.

Your Background & Qualifications:

  • Experience: 4+ years of Platform Engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Citizenship: Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance are required.

  • Cloud & Data Technologies: Expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Containerization: Experience with Docker artifact management across a complex microservices application.
  • Container Orchestration: Experience using Helm Charts and/or Argo CD to manage multi-container deployments in both cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Kubernetes Packaging & Distribution: Experience in packaging and distributing complex software products on Kubernetes, including creating deployment artifacts and distribution pipelines (not limited to running workloads).
  • Marketplace deployment: Experience provisioning applications for deployment in environments like AWS Marketplace, especially more complex Kubernetes-based applications. Terraform experience is a plus.
  • Security: Experience building security-hardened Kubernetes platforms for regulated or restricted environments.
  • Software Development Lifecycle: Familiarity with GitOps practices and the ability to work with legacy codebases.
  • Troubleshooting: Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills with a focus on system performance optimization.
  • Best Practices: Experience developing platforms using industry standards and repeatable processes to maintain project timelines and budgets.
  • Validation: Ability to review, test, and document platform and deployment functionality against design requirements.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders and capturing instructions and explanations in documents and presentations.
  • Teamwork: Proven ability to work effectively in remote team environments.
  • Adaptability: Commitment to continuous learning, adaptability to changing priorities, and ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Performance Testing: Experience with performance and load testing tools.

Desired Qualifications (Plus Factors):

  • Advanced Degree: Master's degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science).
  • Observability: Grafana or similar monitoring platform deployment and dashboard building.
  • Other technologies: Expertise in data integration platforms (e.g., Databricks, Oracle Data Flows, Informatica), database technologies (e.g., Postgres, Trino, SparkSQL), and search engines (e.g., ElasticSearch).
  • AI/ML Systems: Experience working on deployments of AI systems, including locally provisioned/served LLM models.
