We are recruiting a Pharmacy Production Technician I to join our team of health care professionals. The Pharmacy Production Technician I is responsible for dispensing, packing, and shipping medication orders as scheduled and in accordance with established procedures. The Pharmacy Production Technician I assists with maintaining dispensing and shipping supplies, medication inventory, and performs assigned tasks for continued adherence to compliance and regulatory standards.
Job type: Full-time
Pay range: $21.99-$27.50 hourly, depending on experience.

Essential functions and activities:- Responsible for all dispensing, packing, and shipping duties.
- Prints patient specific medication labels and related patient drug information sheets.
- Accurately picks, labels, and dispenses medication, administration supplies, and required materials for pharmacist review and quality assurance verification.
- Ensures the correct drug, correct dose, and correct patient match both the drug product and the drug label.
- Ensures proper cold-chain of refrigerated items.
- Prepares packages for shipment with designated packing materials in accordance with established standards to preserve medication integrity.
- Shipping includes sending prepared medication orders verified by a pharmacist to the patient/provider while appropriately utilizing drug manufacturer storage and accreditation standard guidelines.
- Accurately prepares and affixes correct shipping label to each package.
- Documents all order-related updates and tracking information into patient profiles utilizing the pharmacy’s documentation tools.
- Performs daily queue checks to ensure all orders are shipped as promised.
- Communicates end of day pick-ups with Operations staff.
- Communicates holiday hours and closures to all couriers.
- Correctly stages medication orders at all times, according to ship date and medication-specific storage and handling requirements.
- When handling drugs designated as “hazardous,” adheres to established proper handling techniques.
- Assists with company inventory processes as directed.
- Ensures adherence to accreditation standards/objectives.
- Assists with daily and weekly cleaning of pharmacy workspace and equipment.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Conducts daily temperature monitoring.
- Replenishes gel packs, coolers, and other shipping supplies into appropriate storage area(s).
- Ensures entry of needed data points for reporting purposes.
- Assists elsewhere in the pharmacy, when possible.
- Maintains active Oregon license. Informs supervisor within 1 business day (and Oregon Board of Pharmacy within 10 days) of any arrests, convictions, suspected or known violations of law, or any other conduct that might affect or has affected license status. Reports to Oregon Board of Pharmacy within 15 days any changes to name, residence address, or mailing address, email, phone, or employment.
- Actively participates and provides support as needed to leadership and quality program staff to ensure activities related to the company’s quality management program and quality improvement activities maintain priority focus and are effectively executed. This may include but is not limited to activities that promote objective and systematic measurement, monitoring, and evaluation of services and defined Quality Improvement Projects (QIPs) that may result from such efforts.
- Complies with the company’s Human Resources policies, Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and all department policies and procedures, including protecting confidential company, employee, and customer information; attending work punctually and regularly; and adhering to good safety practices in all activities.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Position specifications:Education and experience- Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Active Oregon Pharmacy Technician License or Certified Oregon Pharmacy Technician License.
- Preferred:
- Experience in pharmacy practice or healthcare setting preferred.
- Physical and mental functions and activities
- Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be able to express oneself, detect, perceive, observe, and assess information exchanged in a variety of communication methods.
- Must be able to demonstrate proficiency with computer applications.
- Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Working Conditions
- Work is performed in a pharmacy environment, with extensive keyboard and computer work. Work also involves frequent moving of packaging, boxes, and items from different areas within the warehouse. Packaging supplies weighing 40 pounds are regularly moved from the freezer to workstations.
- Business needs may occasionally require work in excess of 40 hours per week, including work outside of the standard work week.

- Knowledge of pharmacy benefit investigation, prior authorization support, and patient financial assistance connection.
- Prior experience working with physicians, nurses, or other healthcare professionals.
