Idea Recruitment has partnered with the Southeast’s most comprehensive academic health center and part of one of the nation’s top 5 public research universities in Jacksonville, FL in their search for a Security Supervisor.
Initiate, conduct and resolve incident investigations using reports and information received; Liaison with local law enforcement agencies on incident investigations. Assist with the development of Security strategy and long term goals, by identifying problems and providing solutions for improvement. Contributes to the safety and welfare of patients, visitors and staff by enforcing policies. Directs security officers and guest services staff during routine and urgent calls; will perform officer duties as needed.
-Maintains a secure environment by enforcing hospital policies and providing response to incidents.
-Provides escorts for patients/visitors/staff, Baker Act transports, ED Code team, and for other needs as determined by policy, procedure or shift leaders.
-Provides assistance to hospital staff with patient restraint, patient watches, lockdowns, location of missing patients, visitors, etc.
-Accepts, secures and release patient valuables according to department policy.
-Directs Security Officers, Dispatchers and Visitor Assistants during routine operations, maintains attendance and training records, reviews Incident Reports and arranges for any deficiencies found to be corrected, acts as the liaison to law enforcement agencies, and ensur6. -Maintains competent staff by hiring, orienting and training staff. Staff performance is maintained through counseling, appraising and disciplining. Completes operation requirements by scheduling and assigning employees, and following up on work performance.
- Required Skills
2 year college degree preferred; Five (5) years experience in security, preferably in healthcare, military or law enforcement, Two (2) years experience as a supervisor or lead worker preferred. Knowledge of patrol, investigation, crime prevention techniques, video surveillance, and Microsoft office systems; Hospital Incident Command Certification preferred. Must have or be eligible to obtain a State of Florida Class
"D" Security Officer license or have Police Standards Certification
