As an Embedded System Developer/Engineer, you will be expected to;
Actively contribute to the solving of complex problems with the intent to make the connected world both more safe and secure. You will work within a well-funded start-up founded on innovation and an exceptional team-based culture tasked with commercializing solution development that has been proven and patented.
 
Your responsibilities include: 
  • Working at the edges of information theory to develop security products that had been previously thought of as impossible. 
  • Designing, implementing, testing, maintaining, and documenting the upper phy-layer and link-layer protocols for new communications networks and systems.
  • Working with hardware development and research teams to optimize and tailor protocol designs for real-world constraints, application needs, and performance. 
  • Validating system performance via the development of simulation and verification tools. 
  • Writing high-quality structured bare metal and Linus-based software for embedded processors such as ARM, PowerPC, and x86. 
  • Participating in the architecture, design, and code reviews within the team. 
  • Developing prototypes to prove the client’s key design concepts and to quantify technical constraints. Once proven building highly reliable production designs. 
  • Implementing high-efficiency data movement between FPGA and software systems.
Your background will include: 
  • Bachelor's degree within a relevant field, or at least 2-years of directly related work experience. 
  • A minimum of 2-years of experience working with system-level C or C++ tools including kernels, device drivers, and hypervisors. 
  • C or C++ development for software-defined radios of similar communications protocols. 
  • Security protocol design, RF communications, and IP networking. 
  • Capabilities working within L1, 2 & 3 protocol stack layers in broadband access technologies. 
  • Experience modeling, designing, and validating protocols. 
  • Experience with multithread and multicore programming in a real-time OS environment. 
  • An understanding of first-stage boot loaders, UBoot, Linus Kernel, etc. 
  • Demonstrated debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing skills. 
  • Strong understanding of embedded software principles and the ability to contribute to design sessions.
Additional preferred skills and experience: 
  • Knowledge of systems, computer architecture FPGA SoC platforms, and a passion for software development, networks, and electronics. 
  • Familiarity with FPGA and RTL design including hardware description languages (Verilog, System Verilog, VHDL). 
  • Understanding of broad wireless communications principles including RF, DSP, and FPGA. 
  • Experience designing RF front-end architectures
