Summary:

Field Service Technician travels domestically and internationally to install equipment, train operators, and maintain and repair our equipment to assure our customers of the greatest return on their investment. Field Service Technicians also collect and report customer comments and other observations about our specific equipment, its performance, and potential opportunities to Sales & Marketing.


Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.
  • Install, repair, and maintain equipment at our customers' locations.
  • Train customer personnel in the operation and maintenance of our equipment.
  • Troubleshoot problems at our customers' locations.
  • Provide remote technical support by phone, email, etc.
  • Accurately document all work (i.e. machine conditions, customer comments, repairs made, maintenance performed, specific details of the installation and mill operations, and any observed changes) in written report format.
  • Regularly travel to customer locations by air and automobile on planned trips.
  • Assemble and test equipment in our facility and assist with packing for shipment.
  • Contact customers regularly to maintain a cooperative relationship and stay current with clients' operational and business conditions.
  • Work cooperatively and respectfully with a people of widely varying cultures, backgrounds and education.​​​​​
  • Traveling on short notice to provide on-demand services for clients, including nights and weekends.
  • Present technical information and documentation accurately and effectively.
  • Support the Sales team by surveying clients' machinery for installation design & quotation, and provide leads from client contact.​​
  • Support the Sales team by investigating and reporting information to aid interpretation and resolution of client complaints.
  • Prepare and submit expense report.
  • Assist production and engineering teams with assembly, testing and evaluation of prototype products and product enhancements.
  • Operate a fork truck in our warehouse.

Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MSWord, MSExcel, Service Fusion, HUBSpot, basic searches, Google & other map apps., travel booking sites.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Specialized Training:
OSHA 10 Hr., TappiSafe, ISN, site-specific safety training as required.

Certificates and Licenses:

Valid drivers license w/ clean record
