Overview
The Accountant/Bookkeeper is responsible for entering, tracking, and reacting to the daily financial activities of the company. This position is also responsible for developing, modifying, and maintaining the accounting principles, practices, and procedures that ensure accurate and timely financial statements and transactions. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities, including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation, and the support of budget and forecast activities. The Accountant/Bookkeeper will have contact with all levels of the company as well as the client and supplier networks which requires strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.

Hours: 20 - 30 / week
Partially Remote
Must be vaccinated against COVID-19 before work begins.  If medically or religiously exempt, proof must be provided.

Responsibilities:
  • Full cycle Accounts Receivable including billings & collections
  • Full cycle Accounts Payable
  • General Ledger maintenance
  • Physical Inventory tracking and maintenance
  • Create and track Purchase Orders
  • Multiple bank reconciliations and record-keeping
  • Detailed Analysis and preparation of reports for the President of the company
  • Reconcile monthly credit card statements
  • Employee payroll processing, including 1099s and tax reporting
  • Communication (verbal and/or written) with co-workers, clients, suppliers, vendors, and banking contacts
  • Company & Client asset tracking
  • Processing incoming & outgoing company mail
  • Prepare & analyze appropriate financial schedules and reports as required
  • Deposits account receivables into company bank accounts
  • Timely tax return preparation with President’s assistance
  • Generates 1099's and W-2's for company
  • Answer phone when necessary
  • Greet customers and guests when necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned by President

  • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism
  • Ability to operate calculator, computer, and other general office equipment
  • Comfortable with computerized accounting package(s) and must be easily adaptable with software changes
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements of processing payroll accounting transactions and payroll returns
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely – both verbally and in writing (English)
  • Must be able to keep client matters strictly confidential
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills
  • Must be responsible and self-managed
  • Must have excellent follow-up and tracking skills
  • Must be detail-oriented
Experience
  • Four to six years progressively responsible experience in accounting in a manufacturing setting
  • Minimum 4 years “Full Charge Bookkeeper” including AP, AR, payroll, general ledger and financial reports.
  • Prior experience in Business Management preferred.
Education
  • Bachelors of Science in Accounting, or equivalent from an accredited university.
