has been retained by a well-established solutions provider within the defense, intelligence, and critical infrastructure sector to identify & recruit a skilled Technical Support Analyst ​​​to support their local government client in San Jose, CA. This will be a 6 months project with the opportunity for potential full-time employment after the period of performance for the right fit.

Provides technical support to engineering management and staffs for engineering related personal computer systems software, hardware and network connectivity. Installs, configures, and troubleshoots engineering related software, workstations and network connectivity issues. Supported applications include CAD, PLM, and analysis tools but also any other Mechanical Engineering related software applications.

Skills/Experience Required:
  • Related Bachelor of Science Degree from certified institution or minimum of two years related college courses and minimum of two years related job experience.
  • Must possess a basic understanding of engineering processes, including design and release processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the Engineering customer and IT peers.
  • Must possess problem solving skills in order to troubleshoot and solve software and other IT issues as a team or individually.
Skills/Experience Preferred:
  • Bachelor of Science in engineering.
  • Experience with PTC Creo/Windchill or other CAD or PDM systems is preferred.
  • Experience with mechanical structural analysis tools is preferred.
  • Programming skills that can be used to automate engineering processes is preferred.
  • Skills associated with Engineering Process Automation.
  • Skills required to administrate analysis tools (for example Ansys, Nastran, Patran, Creo Simulate) ITIL course attendance and application General knowledge of information systems, roles, standards, etc. commonly used by mechanical engineers
  • Experience in problem solving efforts, and project planning and execution.
