A boutique IP law firm based in New York City seeks an experienced Patent Attorney to join their team on a temp-to-perm basis.  The position is remote with a competitive hourly rate. Please note that a pre-interviewing writing assessment is required and live references will be requested post-interview.

Primary Duties

The successful candidate will prepare and negotiate licenses, confidentiality & non-disclosure and software development agreements; prepare and prosecute patents before the USPTO; draft due diligence opinions, freedom-to-operate opinions, and non-infringement opinions as well as conduct post-grant proceedings including ex parte reexamination requests, inter partes review, post-grant review, and covered business methods review, and prosecute trademark applications.


Requirements
  • Admission to the USPTO
  • Admission to a United States bar
  • Background with electrical, mechanical, and/or IT is highly desired
  • Trademark prosecution experience is a required
  • 2-3 years of experience
  • Ability to learn quickly, communicate with the team and work well in a remote environment
