Idea Recruitment has partnered with a local Durable Medical Equipment and Supply company in their search for a Durable Medical Equipment Service Technician.  Within this role you will provide customer service by evaluating equipment repair needs, assembling new equipment, completing repairs and installations.

ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE CRITERIA:
  • Provides customer service by completing assembly, repairs and maintenance on all types of rehab medical equipment; evaluating equipment to determine when repairs are not feasible/cost effective and making recommendations to the Rehab Department Manager.
  • Maintains supplies and parts inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, preparing order requests for approval; placing and expediting orders for supplies and parts after approval is received; verifying receipt of supplies and parts.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, regulations; maintaining work area and all shop equipment in good organization and repair; adhering to state and federal regulations, company policies and procedures.
  • Maintains Rehab Department operations by following all policies and procedures; reporting problems and needed changes; providing information and answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by ensuring all information is confidential and adhering to the Corporate Compliance Principles Standards.
  • Protects employees and customers by maintaining a safe and clean working environment; complying with manufacturer’s standards, government and company procedures, rules and regulations; adhering to all infection control policies and procedures
  • Maintains inter- and intra-departmental workflow by fostering a spirit of cooperation.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by ensuring all information is confidential.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
EDUCATION:
Graduation from High School or a High School Equivalency Certificate.

EXPERIENCE:

2 - 3 years progressively responsible mechanical and/or electrical experience.

SKILLS AND ABILITY:

Ability to properly use shop equipment and hand tools; knowledge of fundamentals of electricity; mechanical aptitude. Ability to identify and isolate repair problems; evaluate equipment to make recommendations for repair/replacement. Ability to follow instruction; ability to interface and develop rapport and successful working relationships with staff at all levels, patients and caregivers.
Required Skills
