Manage and direct the Children's Learning Center of  church providing the staff, the children with a caring environment  and up-to-date curriculum to inspire them to develop social skills, educational excellence, and spiritual comfort. 


  • Provide and supportive and caring environment for children
  • Supervise preschool teachers and childcare workers
  • Hire and train new staff members
  • Provide professional development opportunities for staff
  • Establish policies and communicate them to staff and parents
  • Develop educational programs and standards
  • Maintain instructional excellence
  • Assist staff in communication with parents and children
  • Meet with parents and staff to discuss students' progress
  • Prepare budgets and allocate program funds
  • Ensure that facilities are maintained and cleaned according to state regulations
  • Apply for Pre-school license annually - by April 14th
  • Apply for VPK contract annually - as soon as applications open
  • Monthly billing and follow up as needed
  • Follow up on student absences
  • Schedule Fire Marshall for February, make sure fire extinguishers are inspected each October and inspect fire alarm batteries to make sure it's up to date
  • Conduct monthly fire drills
  • Maintain childrens' files as mandated by the state
  • Maintain Employee files including: training, fingerprints, and state mandated hiring records
  • Download timecards and submit payroll to church office biweekly
  • Ensure that SunBiz and W9 are updated each year by the church office
  • Ensure that liability insurance is renewed each December
  • Prepare the school calendar for the next year to include Halloween Parade, Thanksgiving Feast, Easter Egg Hunt, Mother's Day Tea and Donuts with Dad
  • Attend weekly staff meetings with church pastor
  • Schedule and prepare for monthly meetings with Pre-school leadership board

Required Skills


Must be at least 21 years of age
CDA required or a degree which may be used to satisfy this requirement
DCF 45 hour training preferred
Florida Director's Credential required but may be earned within the first 3 months of employment
6-12 months of related classroom experience or related degree preferred
Must have knowledge of applicable safety and abuse reporting procedures
Must complete 10 hours of in-service training each fiscal year (July-June)
Must register and complete Infant & Child First Aid and CPR certification within 90 days of hire and renew before expiration
Pay Range
$12.50   Hourly to $15.00   Hourly
