Salary: $52,000/year

Position Summary: This professional position serves as the centralized point of contact for all new placement requests for children and youth requiring Licensed Out-of-Home Care placements between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m., Monday through Friday. The role is responsible for participating in Shelter Support Calls, seeking the most appropriate and least restrictive placements, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate, and supportive services for children entering care after hours.

Technical/Functional Expectations: 

  1. Centralized Point of Contact - Essential Function: Field calls from Protective Investigators regarding new cases and accept requests for licensed placements.
  2. Placement Identification - Essential Function: Partner with Family Partnerships of Central Florida foster homes and Child Placing Agencies to identify and secure appropriate placements. Collaborate with MFC to ensure medical records and CMAT paperwork are complete for specialized placements.
  3. Daily Movement Tracking - Essential Function: Collect and maintain accurate data in Visual Vault, Argos, and FSFN/CCWIS systems.
  4. Overcapacity Waivers - Essential Function: Complete and track overcapacity waivers, ensuring accuracy and compliance within required timeframes.
  5. Customer Service - Essential Function: Work with families to solve problems and ensure satisfaction.
  6. Team Collaboration - Essential Function: Attend daily afternoon meetings and coordinate with day staff to ensure smooth handoffs.
  7. Other Duties as Assigned: Support training, special projects, and higher-rated positions as assigned for developmental purposes. Job performance requires fulfilling other incidental or related duties as assigned, assisting and training others, and performing duties of higher rated positions from time to time for developmental purposes.

Business Experience:

  1. Valid driver’s license (required)
  2. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in child welfare system 
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to assess and recommend placement and       services
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access

Educational and Experience Requirements:

  1. Child Abuse Prevention or Child Welfare Experience:  This is required to appropriately manage out of home care placements in the least restrictive culturally competent setting.
  2. Strength Based Family Centered Practice Orientation: This is essential to effectively support the System of Care and its values.
  3. Strong Interpersonal, Presentation, and Organization skills: This is required to effectively partner with various stakeholders and agency staff and manage complex issues in a dynamic environment.
  4. Utilization and Fiscal Management: This is required to effectively evaluate levels of care, be fiscally responsible and manage a continuum of services.
  5. Valid Driver's License - Essential: This is required to travel throughout the county and other locations.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

  1. BA/BS required.
  2. Child Welfare Certified by Florida Certification Board required.
