Role Description

The Staff Accountant is responsible for the maintaining financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes.  This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities

·        Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with GAAP

·        Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations

·        Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports

·        Support month-end and year-end close processes

·        Monitor and analyze general ledger accounts

·        Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules

·        Assist with audits, including preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries

·        Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed

·        Other duties as assigned

Your Impact and Experience

·        Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

·        1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting setting

·        Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting

·        Process reengineering involvement and/or process efficiency focus

·        Very strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, Vlookups, sumif formulas

·        Experience with accounting software (e.g. Quickbooks, NetSuite, SAP) a plus

·        Experience with ERP systems preferred

·        Knowledge of internal control frameworks (e.g., SOX) a plus

·        Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

·        High level of accuracy and attention to detail

·        Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but works with other team members inside and outside of the department.
