Title: Director, Title Production

Location: Remote (Must reside in TX)
Provides leadership, vision, and strategic direction in the management of the subsidiary’s title insurance examination function in compliance with investor guidelines and legal, regulatory, and policy requirements.

As a dynamic and resourceful professional, we will rely on you to perform the following duties:
  • Provides strategic leadership and direction in the development of the title examination and title production functions for Agency Services in the state of Texas. 
  • Manages staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment, selection, training, development, performance management and recognition; holds direct reports accountable for developing staff competency in their areas of responsibility.
  • Develops and implements strategic plans for process innovation or improvement – specifically around automated search and production, quality control, claims resolution, underwriting, compliance, and projects to improve the efficiency, quality, and customer service to the Agent base.
  • Develops and maintains departmental policies and operational procedures; establishes and monitors performance metrics and compiles reports to identify trends and service gaps, recommends improvements, and implement approved changes.  Coordinates with Centralized Operations team on an integrated workflow to efficiently address capacity management during periods of high volume.
  • Directs the development and production of reporting tools, key performance metrics, and policies used to analyze and identify trends in operating expenses, project spending, headcount, and risks/opportunities. 
  • Implement, oversee, and execute the critical risk management and underwriting policies within Essent Title’s production services with regular status reporting to the Essent Risk and Underwriting teams.
  • Lead the development of a title policy repository and back plant, as well as the ability to oversee a larger geographic territory as needed/necessary.
  • Oversees and supervises the managers and team leads of all title examination/production departments (3 total). Supervisory duties/responsibilities listed above are applicable for each department lead.
  • Coaches and supports direct reports to help them establish and modify their team management structures as needed.
  • Provide feedback and counsel on any personnel and/or staffing issues that arise to help direct reports maintain production levels and improve work-life balance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
  • Requires 10+ years of related experience in title insurance examination, with at least 5 years in progressively leadership roles.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent. College Degree preferred
  • Requires proficiency in MS Office Suite, Excel, and Adobe.
  • Requires knowledge of TILA-RESPA Information Disclosure (TRID) and related legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
  • Requires experience monitoring vendor performance against expectations.
  • Requires mathematical acumen to analyze complex equations.
  • Requires experience in cross-functional leadership for program and change management.
  • Knowledge of management principles and techniques with advanced business and executive leadership skills.
  • Business acumen, leadership, and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills with tact and diplomacy.
  • Analytical, influencing, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills with good business judgement.

  • Experience using Closing Market, Paperless Closer, and other components of the RamQuest System is preferred.
