Position Summary
The Associate Actuary position will be responsible for creating and maintaining a variety of different models to be used to help make better informed decisions across the healthcare spectrum. This position will incorporate different types of data to help build, maintain, and constantly evolve these models. Applies and examines predictive modeling tool results for pricing, trend, outliers, and significant patterns. Assists in the mentoring and training of Actuarial Analysts. Provides guidance and advice regarding complex projects in modeling, reporting, and other actuarial topics. This is a FT WFH role.
Pay Range
$111,341.68 - $138,263.99 annually
**Actual pay is based on qualifications. Applicants who do not exceed the minimum qualifications will only be eligible for the low end of the pay range.

Required Skills, Experience & Education:- Bachelor’s degree or higher in mathematics, actuarial science, or a closely related field.
- 3-10 years’ experience in health care actuarial work.
- Associate in SOA.
- Excellent organizational skills required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience with using data analysis tools such as SAS, SQL, Microsoft Access, or other similar applications.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and with constantly shifting priorities.
- Ability to project a professional image and maintain complete confidentiality.
Primary Functions:
- Uses analysis tools such as SAS and Excel to create custom ad hoc analyses to support the needs of internal and external partners.
- Produces and distributes a variety of regular monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Meets with customers to understand requirements and design report structures.
- Conducts peer review on analyses and reports produced by other employees.
- Engages in continuous improvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions & Contact with Others- Office environment with extensive close PC and keyboard work, constant sitting, and phone work. Must be able to navigate multiple screens. Fluctuating workflow with varying deadlines. Work in excess of 40 hours per week, including evenings and occasional weekends, to meet business need.
