@Orchard LLC has been asked to support a growing Federal Contractor with expertise in Financial and Budgetary Management, Data Analytics, Data Management, IT Infrastructure, Change Management, and other related solutions, primarily supporting the Department of Defense.  Our client has an immediate need for a Financial Analyst with an active Secret Clearance and prior experience supporting the Department of the Navy to join a team supporting the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Financial Management and Comptroller (OASN (FM&C)) Secretariat of the Comptroller & Resources Department (SCRD).

We are looking for someone familiar with working in a complex customer environment, with great consultative skills, a flexible mindset, and solution-oriented. As a Financial Analyst, you must be able to perform financial analyses, team well with others, think critically, prepare high-quality deliverables, and maintain organization.

As the Financial Analyst you will:
  • Be a member of a group of analysts and specialists who deliver top-tier solutions and client service to the customer.
  • Support the review, analysis, and evaluation of client needs to create solutions that support overall strategies related to Planning, Programming, and Budget Execution (PPBE) as well as contracts and workforce management.
  • Develop and enhance data analytics to uncover insights and inform decision-making.
  • Demonstrate a desire to learn new skills and processes from more senior team members. Coordinates with clients at the working level.
Key Requirements for the role:
  • Proficiency in PowerBI and MS Excel (creating pivot tables and formulas).
  • Demonstrated experience with DON financial systems (preferred experience with Advana and Navy ERP).
  • Must be able to analyze financial statements and budget execution reports.
  • Preferred experience as a Budget Analyst for a large Department of Defense Agency.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • The ability to function independently in a highly dynamic environment with shifting demands and priorities.
Your background will include the following:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active DOD Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field (with the ability to substitute experience for degree, upon review).
  • Minimum four (4) years of progressive experience. Business operations analytics, cost estimating, spend analysis, and analytical business process improvement initiatives.
