@Orchard LLC is a subcontractor supporting the Veterans Affairs Administration with an urgent need for an experienced CRNA to be located at the VA Hospital in West Des Moines, IA. To be deemed qualified you will need to possess a Master’s degree in Nursing and a current nursing certification for ARPNs. You must be a board-certified CRNA by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) and be currently certified in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or an equivalent certification.

As the CRNA your responsibilities will include;
  • Provide and coordinate patient care in primary or specialty healthcare. Within the category of APRNs are specialty areas that include nurse practitioners, certified nurse-midwives, certified registered nurse anesthetists, and clinical nurse specialists.
  • Provide clinical Anesthesiology services.
  • Be present on time for any scheduled clinics/surgeries as documented by physical presence in the clinic or operating room at the scheduled start time.
  • Provide comprehensive clinical anesthesiology services including patients undergoing general surgery, orthopedic, including joint replacement, plastic, ENT, urologic, podiatric, minor vascular, Gynecology, Endoscopy, Dental/oral, and ophthalmologic operations.
  • Provide primary coverage for all patients in the surgical intensive care, short stay unit, acute and chronic pain management services, diagnostic transesophageal echocardiography for medical and surgical patients, and emergency airway management.
  • Responsible for staffing PACE Clinic as assisted by the Chief of Anesthesia or assigned designee and performing evaluation of patients undergoing surgical procedures.
  • All services will be performed on-site in accordance with specifications contained herein to beneficiaries of the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA)
  • Follow all established medication policies and procedures. No sample medications shall be provided to patients.
  • Provide discharge education and follow-up instructions that are coordinated with the next care setting for all Anesthesiology clinical or surgical patients.
Your education and background will include
  • Master’s degree or doctorate from a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council of Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs.
  • National Certification for APRNs.
  • Board Certified CRNA by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) and currently certified in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or an equivalent certification.
