Position Summary
Provides ongoing technical support to department by maintaining current computer applications and developing new processes with updated programming and technical skills.  Maintains a role in supporting the group underwriting functions.
This position is currently full-time.


Pay Range
$51,510.72 – $64,400.00 ​​​annually (depending on experience)

Required Skills, Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor degree in mathematics, computer science, liberal arts, or equivalent work experience in health care industry.
  • Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Access.
  • Strong technical knowledge in regard to development and application of mathematical formulas.
  • Strong analytical, verbal and written skills.
  • Project a professional business image and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a cross functional team member.
  • Ability to train non technical staff members on using technical applications/systems.
  • Ability to come in to work on time and on a daily basis.

Primary Functions:
  • Provides technical support to Underwriting team including: learns procedures and programming behind spreadsheets and applications and maintains their data tables and programming, evaluates other underwriting spreadsheets and procedures and developments enhancements to technical resources, trains underwritings staff on approved changes to current procedures, and designs and maintains underwriting intranet page.
  • Assists in building and maintaining Underwriting databases.
  • Remains cross trained in order to assists large group underwriters with ASO and 50/50 renewals as well as large group quotes, as well as back up for community group renewals and group application approvals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions & Contact with Others
  • Work is performed primarily in a seated position, with extensive close PC and keyboard work.  Work in excess of standard work week.
