osition Summary: The Adult Mobile Response Team (MRT) Therapist is responsible for therapeutic crisis stabilization intervention and crisis prevention services in the Brevard County System of Care in a variety of home and community settings. This position provides immediate response for family stabilization and follow‐up support for adults in community. The Adult Mobile Response Team works collaboratively with the Melbourne Police Department. This position maintains information regarding the environment of current services to ensure a flexible, responsive, culturally competent service delivery system.


Technical/Functional Expectations:
  1. Ensure Therapeutic Crisis Response: This position provides therapeutic crisis response in Brevard County in conjunction with a case manager. MRTs are designed to address a wide variety of situations, including suicidal and homicidal behaviors, individuals displaying hallucinations, family/peer conflicts and disruptive behaviors. The MRT can be the first on the scene or may be called by law enforcement. MRTs are dispatched to the location of a crisis with a target response time of one hour from the time of the call. MRTs coordinate in‐ person services with law enforcement to provide additional safety, when appropriate and necessary.
  2. Comprehensive Summary of Crisis Intervention: This position will provide a comprehensive summary of any crisis response provided within one business day of the response. The summary includes a crisis response summary, brief behavioral description, crisis intervention utilized and any needs or recommendations.
  3. On Call Schedule: This position will respond to calls as part of the on‐call rotation.
  4. Other duties as required: Job performance requires fulfilling other incidental or related duties as assigned, assisting, and training others, and performing duties of higher rated positions from time to time for developmental purposes.

Business Experience:
  1. Two years’ Experience Crisis Intervention: Required to appropriately respond to and stabilize crisis calls.
  2. Strength Based Family Centered Practice Orientation: This is essential to effectively support the System of Carand its values.
  3. Valid Driver's License ‐ Essential: This position requires a valid driver’s license to travel throughout the County.
  4. Two to Five years Clinical Services Experience: Required to effectively supervise and coach clinical services options and manage crisis response.
  5. Strong Interpersonal, Presentation, and Organization skills: Required to effectively partner with varioustakeholders and agency staff and train community stakeholders.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
1.     LCSW, LMHC or LMFT preferred.
2.     BA/BS – Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required.
3.     MA/MA – Master’s Degree or equivalent required
4.     2 to 5 years related experience required.
5.     5 to 8 years related experience preferred.
