Salary: $58,000/annually

Position Summary: The Family Systems Trauma (FST) Therapist conducts outreach and engages with youth served in both child welfare and juvenile justice using a targeted motivational approach to increase parent engagement. The FST Model was developed for a target population of children, adolescents, and their families in the juvenile justice system and or crossover youth in both child welfare and juvenile justice between the ages of 9 and 18 exhibiting SED (severely emotionally disturbed) and/or oppositional or conduct behavior disorders. The FST Therapist will serve a minimum of 20 youth and their families.

Technical/Functional Expectations:

  1. Family Therapy – Essential Function:  Family Systems Trauma individual and family therapy in the home or office depending on the youth.
  2. Treatment Plans – Essential Function: Creates a trauma-informed treatment plan preserving the safety of the child and family first that heals the consistent interactional trauma causing loss of attachment and nurturance within the family.
  3. Family Team Conferencing – Essential Function:  Participates in the Family Team Conference Process. Advocate on behalf of the family when needed.
  4. Participates in Ongoing Clinical Supervision – Essential Function: This position will complete a 15-week online Family Systems Trauma Training Course and engages in clinical supervision two times per month to ensure adherence to the fidelity of the FST Model.
  5. Data Collection – Essential Function:  Collects and aggregates data ongoing through a computerized dashboard.
  6. Other duties as required: Job performance requires fulfilling other incidental or related duties as assigned, assisting, and training others, and performing duties of higher rated positions from time to time for developmental purposes.

Business Experience:

  1. Valid Driver's License & Appropriate Insurance: This position requires a valid driver’s license in order to travel throughout the County and requires $100,000/$300,00 bodily injury insurance coverage in order to transport clients.
  2. 2+ years’ experience serving at risk families: This position must have at least two years’ experience serving at risk families.
  3. Superior verbal and written communication skills: This is essential to effectively and flexibly work with our families who have complex needs.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

  1. MA in Social Work, Counseling or Psychology required.
  2. LCSW, LMHC, LMFT preferred.
  3. 3-5 years related experience required.
  4. 3+ years resolving complex family issues preferred.
