Description

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our award-winning specialty pharmacy team. 

We are actively recruiting a motivated and service-oriented Pharmacy Technician for an exciting new role supporting specialty pharmacy patients and medical providers within select hospital clinics in the Pacific Northwest. This role will center on providing services within a specific PeaceHealth out-patient medical clinic, located in Longview, WA. Through an integrative patient care model, this role will act as an in-clinic specialty pharmacy liaison who partners with other members of the clinic care team to coordinate assistance and provide administrative support throughout each patient’s treatment journey.

As a Integrated Specialty Service Technician, you will partner with members of a medical clinic care team to provide pharmacy focused administrative support and assistance coordination for patients initiating and continuing treatment with a specialty medication. This role will be responsible for completing care activities centered around expediting patient access to medication, ensuring treatment affordability and therapy adherence. Through collaboration with other members of the medical clinic, the Integrated Specialty Service Technician  will help to ensure seamless delivery of patient care services.

Position responsibilities:
  • Communicates with insurance companies to investigate patients’ medication benefit coverage.
  • Provides prior authorization support including but not limited to health history entry, documentation submission, status monitoring and appeal coordination.
  • Communicates prescription statuses to patients and providers.
  • Removes financial burdens by connecting patients with financial support programs such as manufacturer copay assistance and charitable funds.
  • Connects patients with additional resources as needed to overcome social determinants of health.
  • Effectively navigates across application tools, electronic medical records and email to document patient communication, statuses, and outstanding needs.

Preferred skills/credentials:
  • Active Washington Pharmacy Technician license

Our ideal candidate has:
  • Prior experience working in a pharmacy or healthcare setting demonstrating excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy benefit investigation, prior authorization support and patient financial assistance connection.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to empathize and provide compassionate patient care.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate in a team setting.
  • Proficiency in standard workplace software and/or information management applications.
