@Orchard LLC has been retained by a specialty Federal Consulting firm, focused exclusively in the areas of BI Reporting, Data Analysis, Data Engineering, and Data Science, with market-leading solutions and services supporting these areas of need within the Government sector. Our client is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to join a team supporting our federal customer with the development and deployment of financial reports using SAP BusinessObjects and Data Services. This person will be responsible for a variety of analytical and technical tasks, and will be asked to proactively identify risks and resolve problems. They should be comfortable working closely with clients and a team. This job is currently 100% remote due to COVID, but may have on-site requirements in the near future.

As the BI Developer, you will:

• Work with Project Manager to establish level of effort (LOE), help assign development tasks, and translate complex technical concepts to clients in an easily digestible manner. 
• Lead ad-hoc requests that are required to ensure system operability such as firewall requests, database performance testing/tuning, user access requests, ad-hoc SQL queries, account re-certification, and tier 3 troubleshooting requests that are escalated from the help desk. 
• Ability to be flexible and versatile in resolving one-off tasks that may arise. 
• Lead a team of junior developers, provide support and guidance of best practices and perform peer reviews of their work. In particular, provide guidance on how to solve problems using SQL and Oracle.  
• Interface regularly with clients to develop and modify reports to meet stated requirements. 
• Assist SAP administrator with establishing daily health checks and processes for production migration requests; as well as planning and executing software upgrades, etc. 
• Work with Database Administrators to perform database upgrades and schedule maintenance as requested. 
• Work with ETL developers to design requirements related to bringing in new data sources. 

Your background will need to include:

• Well versed in SQL, SAP BusinessObjects, and Oracle Databases.
• 7-10 years experience with these technologies in a similar role. 
• Experience with federal financials (specifically Momentum) is a plus.
• Secret clearance or higher is preferred, or ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.
