@Orchard LLC has been retained by a specialty Federal Consulting firm, focused exclusively in the areas of BI Reporting, Data Analysis, Data Engineering, and Data Science, with market-leading solutions and services supporting these areas of need within the Government sector. Our client is seeking a Business Analyst to join a data warehouse (DW) and business intelligence (BI) development team supporting our federal customer’s financial dashboard and reporting system. The candidate for this role should have experience with data requirements gathering, reporting, and analytics. Candidate should also possess interpersonal skills to communicate requirements, design, and development to technical team, client, and end-users.

As the Business Analyst, you will:

• Participate in functional requirements definition and business process design sessions with end-users.
• Prepare functional designs and process flow documentation according to the client policies and standards.
• Provide support to assess, evaluate, and prioritize analytic development initiatives.
• Assist in identifying, defining, and assessing the impact of system/data design and upgrade changes.
• Develop functional requirements documentation to support the future development, design, and building of financial data analytic applications.
• Perform functional gap analysis on Momentum and other financial system data to assess compliance with agency regulations, business enterprise architectures, and system migration plans.
• Cross-walk financial data from core Momentum financial and feeder systems to support business intelligence and analytics.
• Evaluate business cases and system requirements to support the development, upgrade, and maintenance of financial systems data and analytics.
• Lead training efforts to communicate and implement enhanced analytic capabilities.
• Identify client financial analytic pain-points and propose solutions to address and remediate issues.

Your background will need to include:

• 3 to 5 years' experience in a similar role.
• Experience with Federal financials a plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to produce and present presentations to executive level leadership.
• Top Secret clearance required.
• This is a full-time position on a multi-year contract with on-site work performed at the client’s office located in Washington, D.C.
