@Orchard (formerly Talent Orchard) has an opening to support our large Federal Systems Integration firm for a Contract Wintel Systems Administrator in Charlotte, NC. Initial duration of the contract is 6 months with strong potential for extension or full-time employment opportunity based on the business needs and performance. Night Shift work hours are 8pm - 8am.

Position Description:

Enterprise Command Center has an opening for a Wintel Systems Administrator to manage the Windows server environment on our team located in Charlotte, NC (Ballantine area). Actively monitors enterprise servers in a NOC environment using CA monitoring tools (Spectrum, CAPC, and SOI). Provides Tier 2 support for servers both physical and virtual servers. Remote management of all enterprise servers. Using Vsphere-Rackwise-DSview and other platforms. Observe systemic issues that may arise and work within the team to get them resolved. Work with vendors and support teams inside and outside of the organization. Generate incidents using remedy ticketing system and maintain ticket count low. Follow Major incident process and escalate outages as needed. Provide documentation to support ideas-and changes that would benefit the Enterprise Command Center. Actively report issues to upper management, following major incident process. Report to work in a timely fashion, participate in all shift requirements a directed by your Service Manager, and document your work within our ticketing systems. Maintains operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers. Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards related to the use of computing resources. Maintains operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers.

Experience/Skills Required:

  • 8+ Years with HS 4+ Years with AA 2+ Years with BS 0+ Years with MS
  • Must have 2+ years’ experience providing system and server support.
  • Experienced working with ticketing systems Windows 2008-2016 Server ADUC – (Active Directory Users & Computers), OU’s, Account info, Member of, computer objects, Sec groups… NTFS – permissions Share permissions DFS – And Shadow Copy, Previous Versions (Part of DR) 4 levels of Ping – Loop back, self, gateway, public – VPN Trouble shooting Data Centers – physical & virtual servers – ILO – iDrac.
  • Print services PowerShell – Basics MMC – Add-ins Server Manager – Admin Tools VMWARE and or Hyper V/Snap Shots/Host Migrations Disk Management – VMWare and OS. DR – Backup experience./ Restores / Pervious Version.
