After 5-years of intense design, and development, our client is now building the infrastructure to commercialize their solution, and is looking for an exceptional and motivated Financial Controller, to help build out the Finance and Accounting infrastructure. With early interest including DOD and, the IC it is imperative that the individual hired for this role be experienced in establishing a Finance organization able to stand up to the rigors of DCAA compliance as well as standard commercial requirements including GAAP.

If you are an experienced Financial Controller with both Commercial and Federal Contract experience, including working with DCAA and handling compliance under FAR, DFAR, and CAS, this is a great opportunity to consider.

Are you ready to; 

  • Partner with the CFO and other business leaders and assume responsibility for all financial controls, compliance, and reporting for a technology company providing one-in-a-kind security solutions to Commercial clients and Federal agencies?
  • Be the leader responsible for ensuring full compliance and successful DCAA audits through the establishment of appropriate standards, controls, and procedures?
  • Work together with internal and external partners to implement and optimize a brand new accounting platform (Unanet), including appropriate Federal Contractor compliance capabilities?
  • Be responsible for the effective management of Federal time-reporting and all financial controls associated with engagements?
  • Direct the coordination and preparation of monthly financial statements, annual business plan and supporting system, and the preparation and maintenance of the operating budget?
  • Help develop the infrastructure and provide direction for accounting support functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, inter-company, capital expenditure spending, fixed assets, and other areas?
  • Provide direction for incurred cost submissions (DCAA ICE model), disclosure statements, forward pricing rates, indirect rate true-ups, and other deliverables required by the government?
  • Be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and related analysis for the facility as well as consolidation with other facilities to provide the final roll-up reports?
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, GAAP requirements, safeguarding assets, documenting policies and procedure?

Your background will likely include; 

  • At least 6 years of experience in roles carrying functional responsibility within a Finance function with at least one year of experience as a Financial Controller. 
  • At least 3 years of experience working within Finance and Accounting under the regulatory environment of the DCAA including familiarity with FAR, DFAR, and CAS compliance and successful completion of audits. 
  • Experience supervising team members and external partners, as well l contributing to the build-out or restructuring of a Finance team. 
  • Prior experience participating in the implementation and optimization of a new finance and accounting software solution, preferably within a SaaS environment. 
  • Experience collaborating with internal stakeholders, including working with ownership/C-Suite and external partners to create consolidated reporting and driving efficiencies. 
  • Prior experience working within a company experiencing significant growth or transition, and related comfort/ease, with the inevitable churn and ambiguity caused by rapid change.
