Sr. Design Specialist

@Orchard (formerly Talent Orchard) has been an opening to support our large Federal Systems Integration firm for a Contract to Hire Sr. Design Specialist in York, PA. This is an exciting opportunity to support one of the largest defense contractors that has over $22.59 billion dollars in revenue and is a publically traded company. The company works in a fast paced environment with over 84, 000 employees worldwide. Initial contract duration will be 6 months.

Responsibilities:

Creates innovative and practical mechanical and electromechanical concepts and designs for components, assemblies, tools, and products of varying complexity. Works closely with engineering, vendors, manufacturing, quality, and customers on design specifications. Ensures designs are free of layout process defects. May assist engineers with defining design standards and configurations. Applies Computer Aided Design (CAD-UG NX19) methodologies, theories, and techniques. Reviews various completed engineering documents to ensure compliance with engineering and military standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensions. Provides expert technical consultation to the division and customer community relative to comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of design. Current UG NX 19 experience required.

Experience/Skill Set Required:

• Associate Degree with emphasis in engineering drafting/design or an equivalent combination of training and experience; plus, a minimum of six additional years drafting and design experience, including a minimum of two years of design work.
• Must have 9 years of design/drafting experience using UG NX CAD system. Recent UG NX 19 experience mandatory.
• Creo 4 is a plus.
• Experience with relevant applications in a defense environment is preferred.
