Materials Supervisor

@Orchard (formerly Talent Orchard) has an opening to support our large Federal Systems Integration firm for a Contract Material Supervisor in York, PA. Initial duration of the contract is 6 months with strong potential for extension or full-time employment opportunity based on the business needs and performance. This Shift timings will be either 2:30pm - 11:00pm or 6am - 2:30pm.

Position Description:

The Material Supervisor, working under the direction of the Warehouse Manager II, is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the warehouse facility. The position oversees all operations related to receiving material, material storage, kitting operations, movement of material to manufacturing lines; inventory control; facility maintenance, and employee engagement. This position requires working with internal and external customers. The Warehouse Manager coordinates daily for receipt, inspection, storage, and accountability of Government Furnished Material (GFM). The Material Supervisor ensures material flow is constant. Will ensure that workplace health, safety requirements, training, and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) are accurate and up to date. This person should have a working knowledge of government required documents, FAR and DFAR requirements, and should be a proponent of Continuous Improvement processes and LEAN Management in order to be successful. 1. Supervisory and Administration: Lead the Team. Oversee schedule, quality, and performance of the Warehouse from Receiving through delivery of material to the manufacturing line. Provides direction to departmental employees. Ensure Materials Department initiatives are implemented, as necessary. Attend Materials Department meetings and communicate weekly status to peers and management. Lead the Warehouse Team in the most up to date processes, procedures, and techniques. Directs the distribution of daily work assignments and training of team. 2. Material Flow: Control the flow of material from BAE Systems in York, PA. Implement and enforce strategies to achieve quality and cost-effective Warehouse operations. Provide leadership to all employees directly. Follow and ensure compliance with all written rules and procedures. 3. Compliance: Ensure that all Warehouse activities are conducted with all applicable USG compliance requirements, including but not limited to: FAR/DFARs, ITAR, ISO, and Company Policies and procedures. 4. Technical Experience: ERP, Traffic Management System, and MS-Office Suite. 5. Performance Expectations: Process Improvement initiatives, leadership; planning and execution; organizational and communication skills; problem-solving abilities; training for the department; develop and coach employees.

Experience/Skills Required:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Supervisor/management 10 + years
• Supervisory and Administration Material Flow Oracle Systems
