Budget Assistant - Construction

 

California Builder Services, a well-established independent consulting firm serving real estate developers and Homeowner Associations throughout California is currently searching for an ambitious, career-minded Budget Assistant to join its growing team of professionals. This position will provide a high level of professional support throughout the various stages of land development and Homeowners Association Budgeting. This position offers an opportunity for advancement for someone who is detail-oriented, with construction or real estate knowledge, and proficiency in Excel. At California Builder Services, promotion is more than an opportunity – it’s a requirement. 

 

Essential Duties include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Manage a caseload of projects, including follow-up, scheduling, and reviewing.
  • Review and decipher maps, legal documents, building, and development plans.
  • Create phasing plans and maps for the project.
  • Obtain costs and bids for building and maintenance of project components; examine budget proposals for accuracy, completeness, and conformance with project requirements.
  • Complete project budget forms with supporting documentation; submit for approval.
  • Complete take-off measurements of building plans and common area map to determine quantities of building materials; complete documentation.
  • Maintain up-to-date project documentation, including activity and revision logs and electronic files.
  • Collaborate with land developers, municipal governments, and state administrative agencies.
  • Provide additional support to staff as needed.

 

The desired candidate will possess these qualifications:

 

  • Knowledge of real estate, mapping, and construction
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Construction Management preferred or
  • High School diploma and two (2) years' experience in a professional environment and
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office and Excel spreadsheets required.
  • Experience with Blue Beam, financial analysis programs, and database functions a plus!
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication, professional appearance, phone etiquette, strong organizational skills, exceptional research skills, and the ability to multi-task with a high level of attention to detail required.
  • A valid California Driver’s License required.
