PROGRAM COORDINATOR

HHS FATHERHOOD FIRE

 

The Fresno Regional Workforce Development Board is seeking to fill a Program Coordinator position with a candidate who has strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire collaboration among participants while monitoring the fulfillment of the Dept. of Health and Human Services Fatherhood FIRE (Family–focused, Interconnected, Resilient, and Essential) grant.  This position is full-time, temporary, and grant-supported. Funding for this position is projected to last for up to five years to provide leadership among HHS Grant participants throughout Fresno County and the region. 

The Fresno County Workforce Development Board is a Joint Powers Authority between the City and County of Fresno, with a business-led model to help local organizations meet their workforce needs.

 

Position(s) Overview:

 

The Fatherhood Program Coordinator will work closely with providers to complete or modify proposals, ensure providers comply with program policies and procedures, develop corrective actions, and monitor progress in meeting objectives/deliverables of the HHS Fatherhood FIRE Grant. As such, the successful candidate will  perform various independent functions and assignments related to the overall project oversight and day-to-day management of the HHS Fatherhood FIRE contract. Will develop and enhance contractor relations while providing oversight and technical assistance, as needed. Responsibilities will include review, analysis, negotiation, modification, and execution of HHS Fatherhood Grant to ensure that grant deliverables are being met.

The Coordinator also represents FRWDB at various committees and meetings and collaborates with providers of services, local educators, governmental agencies, and community-based organizations to develop the program.

 

 Qualifications:

 

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Business, Public Administration, or related field and two (2) years’ experience in civic activities, community, employer, and/or vocational organizations/programs.   Or, six (6) years of directly related work experience in an administrative capacity in private or public service in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.   

The ideal candidate will have the ability to provide oversight and management of projects, problem-solve, and maintain professional relationships with service providers, governmental agencies, and other stakeholders.  Must have proven organizational/time management ability, effective verbal and written communication skills, and valid California Driver’s License.

 

Excellent benefits package and competitive salary BOE in a range of $20 to $24 per hour.
