Senior Network Administrator

Reston, VA

@Orchard (formerly Talent Orchard) has an opening to support our large Federal Systems Integration firm for a Senior Network Administrator in Reston, VA. This will be a Temp-to-hire opportunity with an initial contract duration being 6 months.

Position Description:

Involved with installation, maintenance, advanced trouble shooting and administration of existing network systems. Trains end-users and responds to user inquires. Modifies configuration standard templates. Participates in major network installations and upgrades. Trouble shoots complex network problems. Interfaces with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during network outages or periods of reduced performance. Presents recommendations on network interfaces and configurations. Leads and manages small work groups and special projects and reports back to management with status.

Experience/Skills Required:

• 5-10 yrs of work experience with CCNA or CCNP
• Proficient in supporting Cisco Switching, Routing and Wireless environments from CLI
• Must have solid understanding of Cisco Network Access Control (NAC) environments using Cisco Identity Server Engine (ISE)
• Must have solid understanding of Physical Layer infrastructure
• Good communication skills
• Proficient user of Windows and Microsoft Office Suite
• Needs to have ability to understand work assignments and project requirements while working in a standard framework and to deliver on targeted deadlines working independently.

Skills Preferred:

• Knowledge of Cisco PRIME Management System
• Good understanding of Service Now Ticketing system
• Good understanding of other network tools such as Netbrain, Cisco DNA-C, and Bluecat DHCP/DNS services
• Cisco CCNP Certification in switching and/or wireless networks
• Experience using scripting languages such as Python and integration with vendor API to use automation is BIG plus.
