It is the responsibility of the Senior Director, Market Access to drive the success of their growing product portfolio within a territory, while at the same time, leading and mentoring colleagues to deliver similar results within their regions.

Our client’s Market Access team ensures the company’s products are fully utilized; delivering maximum relief for patients and optimizing results for hospital systems. This person in this role will leverage existing networks of contacts within hospitals and develop new relationships, to ensure success for the company’s portfolio. As the Senior Director, Market Access you will;

  • Manage all aspects of Market Access within a territory encompassing several States within the Midwest, including; Colorado, Missouri, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Oklahoma, supporting the growing portfolio of hospital-based products.
  • Provide management and mentoring to a team of Market Access Professionals covering 50% of the US market, including performance management and development.
  • Lead the expansion of existing marketed products to significantly reduce the cost of care and improve patient quality of life for patients.
  • Engage with customers, within the hospital ecosystem to ensure they have the information and tools to assess the value of the company’s products and how to realize appropriate reimbursement.
  • Ensure customers truly understand the potential economic impact associated with a product that is such an elegant and different solution to a critical medical challenge.
  • Partner closely with Sales teams in assigned territory to help customers understand how the company’s current and upcoming solutions impact the economics of their business.
  • Provide customers, with specific information to improve their ability to receive appropriate reimbursement for the use of the product.
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to work with local commercial payers to minimize barriers to patient access for our client’s developing commercial solutions, starting with the current Infectious Disease franchise of products.

Your background will include;

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (life sciences, business, or economics) required, advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or device industry, with at least 5 years in a field-based Market Access role supporting hospital-based products, and 3 years in a leadership position with responsibility for managing teams.
  • Experience launching products in the hospital/clinical environment
  • Strong understanding of the U.S. Market Access landscape and its impact on hospitals and physician office-based practices, as well as the business of hospitals, physician-owned infusion centers, and home infusion providers
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to communicate strategic plans and motivate individuals to execute strategies
  • Analytical and strategic planning skills; ability to problem solve complex situations
  • Excellent communication and platform skills, with the demonstrated ability to present to senior executives.
