Our German client, a leading worldwide supplier of high performance semiconductor and sensor solutions is in search of a:

Task and Responsibilities 

• Within the design and development of spectral sensor solutions:
• Develop and setup lab systems for sensor characterization, including optical design and mechanical construction of setups
• Evaluation and preparation of measurement data
• Contribution to planning and development of laboratories
• Instructing and supervising technicians
• Support of different teams with the implementation of testing and characterization
• Optional: for one of the advertised positions we are looking for an candidate who will take over the team leadership in the short or medium term

Education and Experiences

• Masters or PhD in Optomechanical Engineering, Physics, Optics or related field of study
• Minimum 6 years’ experience preferred. Experience preferred in Lab & Characterization of experience of optomechanical construction (optics mounting, prototyping, construction of experimental setups)
• Self-motivated, creative problem solver, to participate in a cross functional development team
• Willingness to travel worldwide
• Fluent in English
• Primary skills:
• Optical tools: Zemax, TRACEPRO (other tools such as LightTools, CODE V, FRED, and VirtualLab are a plus)
• Mechanical construction (preferred: solid works)
• Secondary skills:
• Data processing and statistical analysis, e.g. Matlab or Python
• Ideally experience with automatization of experimental setups with LabView
