Our German client, a leading worldwide supplier of high performance semiconductor sensor solutions is in search of an:

Senior Engineer, IC Digital Design

Tasks and responsibilities

• Define digital/system architecture as per system requirement. Interact with analog design engineers to derive/define specification. Interact with SW and HW team and define functions such that SW/HW interface is clean
• Understand/derive spec, design partitioning and implement blocks in RTL accordingly
• Ability to incorporate embedded microcontrollers into a system and define optimal hardware/firmware partition
• Verify the design implementation at block and top level using block level test bench or top-level test bench using both directed tests and constrained random regressions
• Support/Perform the development and execution of verification test plans, test bench design and activities which includes environment setup, regressions, failure debug, and netlist simulation for tape-out, develop detailed test and coverage plans based on IC specifications
• Synthesis, scan insertion and ATPG generation. Define/Write assertion in the design. Perform and review CDC, LEC, LINT
• Prepare documents required for design challenge, internal discussions, test requirements and review meetings (DV Plan, DV execution plan, …)
• Support the silicon validation and production test (DFT) and plan, supervise or perform validation on digital portion of design
• Technical communication with customer (and/or marketing) and other work-packages, including: presentation in design reviews, test requirements, defining / tracking / working to ensure schedule adherence and interactive problem solving
• Help junior / younger engineers learn required knowledge and experience through projects work

Your education and experiences

• Minimum Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or microelectronics – with an emphasis in analog / mixed signal Integrated Circuit Design or a similar specialty
• Minimum 10 years experience in Digital IC Design development, with proficiency in design of blocks and system level design
• Expertise in Architecture development and RTL coding
• Expertise on serial protocol like I2C, I3C, SPI etc. and its implementation
• Experience on technology background and backend gate level implementation
• Hands on experience in verification, synthesis, scan insertion, ATPG and timing analysis, early design analysis, CDC. (irun, Xcelium, DC, Genus, Primetime, Tempus, Tetramax, vManager). Make and proficient in scripting using perl, shell, Tcl, python etc
• Experience in DSP and implementation of different Digital Filters like CIC, decimation is benefit
• Experience in defining assertion, writing assertions and other design methodology
• Experience in debugging silicon in lab and operation of lab instrument is a plus
• Experience in verifying mixed signal blocks in digital perspective is strong benefir
• Excellent team player
• Calm professional demeanor and excellent listening skills, ability to organize and prioritize work
• Good communication skills in oral and written English and German
