About the role;

This is a frontline role focused upon client engagement, qualifying and evaluating opportunities, guiding clients, distilling needs, proposing and securing opportunities, directing analytical solutions engagement, and ensuring successful delivery and follow-on. Our client is looking for people with demonstrated ability to distill the essence of client needs across multiple stakeholder viewpoints, build bespoke solutions roadmaps and proposals to address those needs holistically and within timescales necessary to be viable and of high value to the client.

Responsibilities

  • The Consultant consults to existing and potential new clients using business, market, commercial, process, and technology skills and experience
  • Must demonstrate consummate consultancy skills, to be able to autonomously qualify, evaluate, guide, define and propose solutions that meet or exceed customer needs and values, and fall within their budget, spend type and timescale constraints:
    • Pitches appropriately to each audience level and type
    • Establishes early client recognition of our value, our credibility, credentials, capabilities, and comprehensiveness to address their requirements
    • Uncovers and assimilates client needs and constraints, structures an outline of opportunities of greatest value gaining their buy-in
    • Evaluates feasibility, scope and defines appropriate projects and deliverables, and where necessary staged solutions in sequenced roadmaps
    • Innovates compelling propositions and holistic solutions in the appropriate mode of engagement
    • Engages and directs wider consulting team and other services resources appropriately to determine project costings, build workable commercial propositions, statements of work, and contractual frameworks in accord with account strategy and legal support
    • Convinces customers to invest through flexible negotiation and secures contracts
    • Directs resourcing and project goals attainment, ensuring successful solutions delivery
  • Develops deep relationships internally and externally, ensuring sustained investment through strong client partnership
  • Creatively and adaptively monetizes consulting services to drive revenue and margins
  • Serves as the senior engagement escalation point to ensure high levels of quality and client satisfaction
  • Builds excellent communications materials for all consultancy engagements, records case-studies for internal and external application, markets and showcases the full gamut of consulting services
    • Maintains knowledge of available solutions and best practice for consulting processes
    • Extends portfolio of solutions and capabilities through creativity and innovation
  • Stays up to date on innovations, technical trends and applies this to direct the refinement of all materials

Your background will look like;

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study, Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a fee-based consultancy practice, specialising in communications and/or IT performing:
    • Frontline client engagement, qualifying, evaluating, guiding, distilling client needs across multiple stakeholder viewpoints, prioritising, proposing and securing opportunities within timescales necessary to be viable and of high value to the client
    • Fee-based project consulting, financial metrics, utilisation and margin attainment
    • Directing and building bespoke analytical solutions roadmaps
    • Directing development and ensuring successful solutions delivery and follow-on
  • 5+ years’ experience in at least one consultancy engagement model of
    • Strategic consulting including the manifold skills of business investment, expansion, technology upgrade/evolution, business and market assurance, wholesale and retail services, competitive differentiation, financial evaluation, market and geo-analytical solutions
    • Project consulting including the manifold skills of project management, solution and action roadmaps, analytics definition, design and implementation, workflow automation and tracking and reporting
    • Custom analytical solutions including scoping, feasibility, data analysis, innovation, determining all constraints, lever existing products/services and creative visualisation for solutions to replace operational tools, workflow automation and integrate back-office systems
  • Masterful ability to capture, paraphrase, prioritize and propose rapidly against customer needs, translating into distinct use cases
  • Demonstrable knowledge of
    • Communications networks L0 – L3, signalling protocols, IP networking
    • Network management systems, and element management systems
    • OSS, BSS and Inventory Management systems ancient to modern
    • Data analysis – cleansing, normalizing, integrating and rendering
    • Database technologies particularly NoSQL
    • Mathematics and statistics
    • NMS products and tools an advantage
  • Commercial and contractual experience, with proven written contract skills
