Responsibilities

Develop a training information system for a DOD client. Training system will provide a common operational picture of the training environment in 5 integrated capability areas: Training Development, Training Management, Training Enterprise Scheduling, Learning Content Management, and Training Resource Management. These capabilities will enable the DOD client in planning and preparing for operational, institutional and self-development training.

The Subsumed System Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the effort to subsume all legacy systems for the Customer. Directs and supervises all efforts and resources to ensure that all legacy systems, identified by the Army, are vetted and clearly defined to be subsumed into the Customer's new program.  Manages the research of all the identified legacy systems.  Must be able to obtain a high understanding of what each legacy system supports in the training management needs of the Army and the operational functions of each of the systems.  Must work with other leaders to ensure that timelines are met and each legacy system has been thoroughly vetted prior to being subsumed.  Must be able to follow, and work with, the Agile process to ensure that timelines and workloads are met at all sprints during the project.  There are approximately 30 major systems to be subsumed with many subordinate sub-systems.  The coordinator must be able to ensure that multiple systems are being prepared for ingestion (subsumed) into the Customer's system at one time.  This position will require flexibility and the ability to think and act on the move.  Must be able to communicate the vision for subsuming the systems and be prepared to brief managers on a regular basis as determined.  Responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of a valid and approved subsumed system plan.  Must be able to take the original concept through final implementation. Interacts with all areas affected by the project including end users, computer services, and client services. Defines project scope and objectives. Develops detailed work plans, and schedules.  Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables.  

Qualifications

Required skills:  

- US citizen

- Secret clearance or ability to hold a Secret clearance.

- BS 10-12 years, MS 8-10 years, Phd 5-7 years or qualifying work experience.

- Served in the Army as a Soldier or Civilian and experience with Army Training Systems.

-Knowledge/experience with subsuming legacy systems.

-Background in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other technical discipline required.

-5 or more years experience in database and SQL queries.

 

DESIRED SKILLS:

-Network certifications such as Network+ or A+.

-Experience with Cloud solutions
