Primary Functions:

1. Oversees, with a hands-on approach, the monthly close and financial statements, trends and key reconciliations. Ensures financial statements are accurate and issued timely.

2. Analyzes the financial position and results of operations of the company and researches and resolves significant, unusual or unexpected transactions or results.

3. Presents monthly financial results to the President and performs research and analysis as needed to address questions or concerns.

4. Coordinates the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit and implements any remediation actions identified by auditors.

5. Serves as key contact for all other audits, including furnishing supporting documentation as requested and addressing issues or questions.

6. Complies with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings (includes escheat and 1099 reporting).

7. Manages the production of the annual budget and performs other budget and forecast activities as needed (e.g., pro forma, multi-year, mid-year updates, etc.), reviews variances from the budget and reports significant issues to senior management, and reviews results quarterly with departmental management.

8.Reports quarterly financial results, topics of instruction and other items, as necessary, to the Board and partners, as directed.

9. Researches new accounting pronouncements, summarizes requirements and impact for senior management, and ensures compliance.

10. Evaluates proper accounting treatment and financial impact of significant transactions (leases, purchase accounting, fair value measurement, pension, new contracts, etc.).

11. Monitors cash management procedures, including collection, posting, reconciliation, and reporting.

12. Assesses the adequacy of cash on hand, working capital, and line of credit positions. Maximizes return on excess cash on hand.

13.Provides oversight of delinquent accounts, monitors adherence to established guidelines, and limits the extent of non-standard exceptions allowed.

14. Oversees applications and renewals for company insurance/liability coverage, currently obtained through MG Insurance Holdings, and ensures coverage is adequate to meet company needs and contractual requirements.

15.Creates a cross-functional, interdepartmental analytics initiative within the company, identifies key metrics and benchmarks, as well as a method for reporting the information to key personnel on a regular basis.

16. Ensures adherence to accreditation standards/objectives.

17. Creates policies and procedures and written job aids as needed.

18. Interfaces with other department heads to resolve problems or develop new procedures.

19. Coordinates workloads of employees in the Accounting and Legal & Regulatory departments.

20. Performs special projects as needed.

21. Takes lead role on the development of process and procedures impacting the Legal & Regulatory and Accounting departments.

22. Prepares tax provision accrual, coordinates preparation of tax returns with tax advisers, and reviews tax returns for reasonableness and accuracy.

23. Implements, documents, and monitors adequate design and effectiveness of internal controls, including fraud policies and assessment.

24. Leads the finance/accounting effort in new system implementation.

25. Provides executive oversight and leadership to the management team and shared services partners supporting Human Resources and Ardon Facilities.

26. Actively participates and provides support as needed to fellow leadership and quality program staff to ensure activities related to the company’s quality management program and quality improvement activities maintain priority focus and are effectively executed. This may include but is not limited to activities that promote objective and systematic measurement, monitoring, and evaluation of services and defined Quality Improvement Projects (QIPs) that may result from such efforts.

27. Actively participates as member of Quality Management Committee (QMC).

28. Complies with the company’s Human Resources policies, Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and all department policies and procedures, including protecting confidential company, employee, and customer information; attending work punctually and regularly; and adhering to good safety practices in all activities.

29. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
