@Orchard LLC has been retained by, a leading Federal Contractor, to identify a Personnel Security Specialist for the Washington DC-based government client. Our client is looking for a highly qualified, experienced professional able to provide critical support to their client. It is a government client requirement that the individual must possess their Adjudicator Professional Certification (APC).

As the Personnel Security Specialist you will;

  • Utilize skills and experience to ensure security requirements associated with the government are met.
  • Coordinate and work with internal and external organizations to deliver new solutions and develop security programs.
  • Monitor security applications through review and analysis and prepare summary reports.
  • Employ risk management practices in supporting security goals and objectives.

Your experience will include;

  • A demonstrable understanding of the Federal Investigative Standards as found in EO 10450 and 12968, as well as Public Law (PL) 108-458, the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004, the Director of National Intelligence (DNI), the Office of Personnel Management, the federal investigative standards, and the Director of Security.
  • Have extensive technical knowledge and experience initiating and conducting non-criminal personnel security background investigations in accordance with public laws and executive orders, as well as the Federal Investigative Standards set forth by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and Director of National Intelligence (DNI). 
  • Exhibited ability to work and multitask independently or in a collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrated competence in areas including; preparing clearance certifications for employees to attend classified meetings, foreign and domestic travel, and verification of clearance for general inquiry purposes.
  • Review and analyze self-reporting information to determine if additional screening and/or fieldwork is needed.
  • Perform evaluations and analysis of existing policies, procedures, processes, techniques, and may prepare investigative interrogatories and reports for adjudicative review.
  • Conduct an in-depth analysis of all investigative data obtained according to established federal adjudicative guidelines, prepares summaries for senior-level review, and make recommendations for final consideration of a national security clearance or public trust position.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5-7 years’ experience or 8 years’ experience in lieu of degree.
