Technical Analyst/SME – Navy Ship Design

@Orchard LLC is supporting a team seeking award supporting a critical Navy engagement in support of NAVSEA. One of the key roles is that of a Technical Analyst. The work is located in the Washington DC area and the contract duration upon award is for 5 years.

Critical Education, Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

• Master's degree in management, business, or a technical field.
• 10 years of experience with DoD acquisition processes, in DoD/Navy program management, Industry or Government technical management, or Industry or Government business management and implementation of technical projects.
• Greater than 10 years of experience with DoD acquisition processes, in DoD/Navy program management, Industry or Government technical management, or Industry or Government business management and implementation of technical projects.
• Naval Officer (LCDR or above), SWO / EDO experience,  knowledge of DoD 5000 process, procedures and policy, knowledge of ONR, PEO and In-Service ships sustainment operations and organizations.

In the role you will;

• Provide SME knowledge regarding DON Command structure and activities-operation.
• Provides an understanding of current and historic employment of forces, Science and Technology trends, naval architecture.
• Provide advice on ship operations particularly ship handling, damage control, ship systems engineering-operation, corrosion and corrosion abatement, extreme environment ship operations (Arctic) 
• Identify and recommend solutions for long term needs.
• Provide management and technical support.
