Talent Orchard, LLC has been contracted by a top defense firm in their search for a Cyber Systems Engineer SME professional for opportunities in Washington, DC.


Responsibilities:

The Cloud Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) provides support to the customer in the area of Cyber Security. Daily Tasks include, but are not limited to:

 Provides analytical and technical security recommendations to the customer
• Lead for the identification of projects’ security requirements
• Provides security recommendations for systems using Cloud services
• Participates in network design reviews and security testing for the customer’s networks
• Coordinates with system development teams to ensure network security standards are being followed and implemented correctly
• Identifies additional security requirements, based on RMF or as the result of security issues that put the customer’s systems at risk
• Reviews and analyzes new systems (hardware and software) and provides recommendations concerning their security
• Reviews Security Requirements Traceability Matrixes (SRTMs), System Security Plans (SSPs) and other IA documentation for completeness


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Requires 12 to 15 years with BS/BA or 10 to 13 years with MS/MA or 7 to 9 years with Ph.D.
Current U.S. Government Secret or above clearance
An Advanced Cyber Certification (DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level III) - (CASP+, CISA, CISSP, CCNP, GCIH, GCED)

AWS certification (Solution Architect Associate or Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional, or Security Specialty)

Additional certifications (see below for examples) are highly desired:
o CompTIA Secure Cloud Professional (CSCP)
o CompTIA Cloud+ CE
o Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
o Cloud Certified Professional
o Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect
o Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge
o VMWare Certified Advanced Professional – Cloud Infrastructure Administration
o Microsoft Specialist: Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions
o Microsoft Specialist Architecting Microsoft Azure Solution

At least 3 year of demonstrated experience providing security engineering to cloud capabilities and solutions in AWS, Azure or other mainstream CSP

Excellent communications skills – Verbal and Non-Verbal
Demonstrated expertise and experience in networking protocols and concepts
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in software defined networking principles and technologies
Demonstrated experience providing security engineering support to capability migration from on-prem to cloud
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the NIST RMF
Demonstrated expertise and experience in cybersecurity principles
Demonstrated experience with Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems

Desired Qualifications:

Demonstrated cloud architecting experience (e.g. AWS Solutions Architect)
Systems Engineering (configuration management, requirements management/writing, architecture, interfaces)
Knowledgeable of customer’s infrastructure
Familiarity with customer’s IA processes
Bachelors of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
Self-starter requiring limited direction and supervision
Experience briefing senior customer personnel
Ability to organize and prioritize numerous customer requests in a fast pace deadline driven environment
Experience with IA vulnerability testing and related network and system test tools (i.e. retina, HBSS, EVSS, ACAS)
Experience with XACTA
Experience supporting IC or DoD in the Cyber Security Domain

The contractors for the TDL shall perform work primarily at the Pentagon or in Crystal City, VA but might also work at Perspecta facilities and elsewhere as required and approved by the ECMO. Normal duty work hours at the Pentagon (Washington, DC) or at the Taylor Building (Crystal City, VA) is from Monday-Friday, 0800-1700.
