@Orchard (formerly Talent Orchard) has been an opening to support our large Federal Systems Integration firm for an experienced BOM Analyst in Sterling Heights, MI. This is an exciting opportunity to support one of the largest defense contractors that has over $22.59 billion dollars in revenue and is a publically traded company. The company works in a fast paced environment with over 84, 000 employees worldwide. Period of performance will be 12 months with potential extensions after the said period.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Plans, organizes, coordinates, and evaluates Bill of Material (BOM) efforts in support of multiple, significant developmental and production programs within company’s guidelines and U.S. Government specifications; executes assigned programs within cost and schedule constraints. Establishes, maintains, and promotes good customer relationships
  • Ensures the coordination of work tasks with customer representatives. Ensures customers are informed on status and progress of assigned programs.
  • Contributes to the preparation of project documentation to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Reviews documentation and applies knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes
  • Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on the BOM.
  • Coordinates modification records for BOM management control.
  • Contributes to the development of policies and standards to ensure team optimization.
  • Establishes and maintains configuration baselines.

 

Experience/Skill Set Required:

  • More than 5 years Defense or Automotive Manufacturing experience preferred, with focus on Bills of Material management.
  • Working knowledge in US Army product development, processes and standards pertaining to engineering to ensure accuracy for production readiness.
  • Understanding of Configuration Management (CM) principles, Bill of Material (BOM) Structuring expertise, and basic engineering background.
  • Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP), Oracle, and / or Advanced Supply Chain Planning (ASCP) experience required.
  • Extensive expertise of design engineering, manufacturing, material planning; production planning purchasing principles and discipline of CM including Standards/Specifications. Ability to see the relationships of these functional areas and make decisions based on the business impacts to these areas.
