Talent Orchard, LLC has been contracted by a top defense firm in their search for a Network Operations Specialist professional for opportunities in New Orleans, Louisiana. 


Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, manages the day-to-day activities of the Network Operations Center (NOC), including all Cyber Security activities.

Ensures effective and efficient operation of network systems, architecture and topology through deployment and oversight of network operations specialists, that all operating systems are adequate, functional, and conform to operation security policies and procedures. Assists with the development and application of business processes to ensure appropriate service levels.

Develops and implements standards, procedures, and processes for the NOC.

Participates in strategic network planning, steady state operations planning, and development of contingency operation plans.

Plans and supports injection of new technologies and implementation of technology refresh.

Confers with and advises administrators, user representatives, and technical personnel regarding development and design of integrated network solutions.

Prepares recommendations based on monitoring results, tools analyses, and forensics.

Participates in the development and implementation of policies and procedures regarding network equipment, maintenance, and monitoring.

Prepares status reports.

Schedules routine system maintenance, oversees application of proactive Cyber Security measures, and manages reaction to Network Defense requirements.

Develops and maintains system architecture and operational documentation.


Qualifications

  • Education and Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; may hold 2 year post-high school Degree (technical field); may hold Bachelor's degree.

  • Must have current DoD 8570 IAT L II certification (ie,Sec+CE)

  • Must have current CCNA certification

  • 5-9 years of working experience in related fields.

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance (Can be Interim)

  • Must be able to work rotating shift work, M-F, between the hours of 5am to 9pm (8 hr shift) as well as rotating weekend shift, Sat and Sun, 7:30am to 4pm.

 

  • Knowledge and Skills:

  • Able to demonstrate broad knowledge of corporate policies, products/service portfolio, markets and processes.

  • Thorough knowledge of administration or technical practices in relevant areas, plus application of basic theory.

  • Able to apply advanced knowledge to assist in the operation of several aspects of a technology area/customer group.

  • Ability to resolve or assist in the resolution of complex customer problems.

  • Able to maximize systems availability in standardized customer environments.

  • Able to apply basic management skills in planning, problem solving, solution innovation, analysis.

  • Able to demonstrate good oral, written, and telephone communication skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, peers, and support partners.

  • Able to provide some proactive account understanding of the Customer's system environment and associated business needs.

  • Ability to work in a team environment, which may be local, global, virtual, or multifunctional.

  • Demonstrate good teamwork with peers.
