The Fresno Regional Workforce Development Board is seeking a dynamic Full-time Career Technical Education Specialist.

The Fresno County Workforce Development Board is a Joint Powers Authority between the City and County of Fresno, with a business-led model to help local organizations meet their workforce needs. The Business Services Center’s mission is to help businesses meet their human capital needs by providing outplacement, recruiting, and training services to existing employees or new applicants.

 

Summary:

 

The Career Technical Education Specialist (CTES) will outreach to qualified Clients in Fresno, Tulare, Kings, Madera and surrounding and provide them information about the employment opportunities of our program The CTES will implement an outreach and pre-assessment strategy to engage, motivate and prepare Clients who have an aptitude or interest in high-demand jobs in trades/public infrastructure. Once the Clients are identified, the CTES will use a variety of tools to assess and refer them to the appropriate workforce development board for enrollment into further services. The measurement of success for this position will be assessing and referring a high volume of qualified candidates into our job portal with quick turnaround.

Efforts will include sourcing candidates through social media, networking, community forums, and posting opportunities through various job boards. This individual will also be responsible for collecting data, discussing trends in the work trades and addressing workforce challenges.

 

Qualifications:

 

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in public administration, communications, business, social work, sociology, or related field and minimum of two years’ recruiting and or vocational education experience. Equivalent experience may be substitured for a college degree. The ideal candidate will have the ability to interpret technical journals, financial reports and legal documents, and also have the ability to juggle multiple requisitions with a high degree of quality and attention to detail. Must have proven organizational/time management ability, and effective verbal and written communication skills.
