Description

Provide deep product expertise needed to lead the organization and drive strategic product decisions. Analyze market and competitive conditions, laying out a product vision that is differentiated and increases product satisfaction by 10-20% over three years.

OUTCOMES:

  • Develop an achievable, forward-thinking roadmap aligned with the corporate strategy for product development that is delivered as planned unless due to surprise market or other changes.
  • Deliver roadmap research and justification on an annual basis to be updated quarterly on a timely basis with ROI, market research and fact-based support.
  • Deliver accurate and relevant market intelligence analysis on an annual basis to be updated quarterly on a timely basis.
  • Maintain or improve company EBITDA by balancing system stability and ensuring our products are not commoditized through features, services and innovative products that bring value.
  • Decrease number of questions to our internal tech support team from clients about how to use the product by 10% annually for the next three years.
  • Increase usage of newer features in order to retire less used features, enabling our client to reduce its tech debt (defects related to older features) and maintenance costs by $50k-$200k annually for the next three years.
  • Decrease our client’s operational costs by $100k-300k annually for the next three years through product enhancements resulting in greater operational efficiency, automation and quality.
  • Increase product and feature saturation within clients by 10%-25% over 3 years by delivering products and features clients are willing and excited to adopt.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • All responsibilities for this role will be in service of the Outcomes listed above
  • Responsible for product oversight through full product management lifecycle, from defining product vision and strategy, development and execution of product roadmap, launch, and ongoing management
  • Oversees commercial and operating performance of product scope against stated KPls
  • Partners with leadership to develops robust market, customer, and competitor fact base through day to day activities, including but not limited to customer visits, developing a Customer Advisory Board, conducting market research, Win/Loss Analysis, and engaging with key market constituents
  • Develops high level requirements and buy/build/partner decisions for roadmap concepts
  • Works closely with Product Owner to communicate vision and requirements for new features
  • Holds Product Owner accountable for timely feature delivery
  • Engages in dev process as needed to provide clarity and direction
  • Develops in-depth knowledge of product functionality
  • Leads cross-functional Product Council and business reviews on product goals, performance, and priorities

  • This role will need to partner with many leaders on the operations team to design and execute strategy in coordination and partnership with existing teams and structures
  • Beyond the operations teams, this role will need to build strong partnerships with account management, product, and software development teams in order to realize some of the outcomes

The desired candidate should have direct experience in process design or development and/or process re-engineering. The desired candidate should have demonstrated initiative in past work. In addition, the candidate should be comfortable and confident with complex analytic work (including linear optimization and other operational models), be persistent, have demonstrated results, pay attention to the details and be efficient with work.

Required Skills

• BA/BS required; master’s degree in business, finance, operations, engineering, computer science or similar field preferred
• 3+ years of product management related experience
• Proven leadership in driving profitability, cost savings and innovation.
• Experience with project management and successful completion of project-based tasks will be required to be successful
• Leadership in process redesign and re-engineering and agile methodologies preferred
• Consumer driven health care, financial products and/or consumer-facing product experience preferred
