Location: Shanghai, China 

An extraordinary opportunity for a talented and experienced executive to build a business from the ground up through Authentic Brands Group’s 50 plus brands.  

Authentic Brands Group is a brand development, marketing, and entertainment company which owns a global portfolio of entertainment and lifestyle brands.  Since the company’s inception in 2010, we have acquired and established 50 brands that span active, fashion, luxe, street and celebrity sectors. Across the portfolio of these brands we manage nearly 900 partnerships worldwide to generate close to 9 Billion dollars in retail sales annually. We not only look to develop the stories of each brand but also expand our portfolio and delve deeper worldwide. Our team at ABG act as the driving force in order to accomplish such business growth and we continue to attract, retain, develop, and seek out world- class talent across all departments. We currently have six global offices (NYC, Toronto, Shanghai, Taiwan, Mexico City, London) with other openings soon (L.A) in order to best service our brands and our company’s continual global expansion. 

Scope 

  • Overall P&L responsibility of the China office including annual business development goals, current licensee royalty streams, execution of marketing initiatives and managing administrative costs. 
  • Develop new businesses and opportunities, while building out the office’s sales function and staff - taking into account regional and categorical nuances 
  • Manage the strategy and execution of a multi-billion-dollar business, including planning, forecasting and analysis of results to define go-forward strategies for growth and efficiency to increase online sales and optimize customer experience.
  • Act as key liaison to new and current licensees ensuring ABG’s brand standards and contractual obligations are up-held 
  • Work with licensees to develop and help execute strategic plans including product initiatives, wholesale and retail distribution, social/marketing 
  • Able to trouble shoot and problem solve around key contractual and operational issues 
  • Train, develop and ensure licensees are guarded with the most relevant brand information 
  • Responsible for the hiring, development and growth of China office employees 
  • Implement reporting processes to NY office to ensure fluid and structured commutations. 
  • A/R collection, and expense management 
  • Build, mentor and groom collaborative and effective teams for success; Inspire and motivate by example with strong leadership skills; Incorporate initiatives to attract and retain top talent. 
  • Monitor competitor product efforts, site changes and industry trends to take preemptive and responsible actions as appropriate. 

Requirements 

  • 20+ years in fashion, retail or C&E role at the leadership level 
  • Self-starter, problem solver and exhibits senior leadership qualities 
  • Ability to work independently, while still exhibiting excellent communication skills 
  • Understanding of mechanics of licensing business model and agreement 
  • Deep understanding of the market and consumer in China 
  • Broad range of industry contacts - ability to develop new business 
  • Must speak Mandarin and English 
  • Bachelor degree, MBA preferred
