Bilingual Staff Accountant
Type: Full Time, Hourly

Position Summary

Cambridge Network is looking to find a dynamic, talented, analytical person to join our accounting team. The Staff Accountant will focus primarily on one of our business units in China and will encompass a broad range of responsibilities including Accounts Receivable (collections, invoicing) and Accounts Payable (vendor invoice processing and expense reports) This candidate will take the lead in developing the entity’s operating budget, monthly close process and related analysis.  This position will also have the opportunity to participate in adhoc projects and special initiatives.

Job Duties:

Accounts Receivable / Invoicing

 

  • Secure and maintain all China school contracts
  • Generate client invoices according to their sales contracts
  • Process client payments, credit memos, debit memos and rebilling requests
  • Closely monitor and report on AR aging and create procedures to minimize payment delays
  • Ensure customer information is up to date (contracts, contact information, etc.)

 

Accounts Payable

 

  • Process vendor invoices, match them to purchase orders and get approval from department managers
  • Verify proper general ledger coding in accordance to departmental budgets and post invoices in ERP system (Intacct)
  • Generate weekly payment batches
  • Correspond with vendors and respond to vendor inquiries
  • Maintain filing and organization of vendor contracts
  • Own the vendor setup and maintenance process including issuance of 1099s
  • Audit, approve, and process expense reports based on company policy and provide analysis to managers
  • Process payments to Contractors and Host families

 

Monthly Closing

  • Prepare and post all journal entries and accruals for China business entity
  • Prepare, analyze and distribute monthly reports comparing actual spending to budget
  • Coordinate monthly financial reviews with budget owners
  • Assist with preparation of account reconciliations

 

Other duties

 

  • Preparation of annual budget Support
  • Other accounting functions as needed
  • Assist with year-end close tasks and reporting
  • Participate in departmental

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 3 years of relevant job experience
  • Experience working in ERP systems (Intacct Preferred)
  • Highly skilled in Excel and experienced in other Microsoft Suite Products (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Solid communication skills, written and verbal
  • Detail oriented, organized, energetic and self-motivated
  • Takes pride in accuracy and completeness of work
  • Excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to meet deadlines
  • Confident and comfortable with communicating with all levels of management, will be the main contact for our China business unit
  • Must be fluent in English and Mandarin (verbal and written)
