Assistant Education Coordinator

The Assistant Education Coordinator assists the Medical Education Director in planning, implementing and coordinating the day-to-day operations and long-range projects of Lone Star’s educational programs. 

Essential job functions:

• Support the mission of Lone Star Family Health Center and assist in the smooth operation of the administration of the Center and all educational programs.
• Maintain affiliation agreements, files, schedules and checklists for students participating in educational programs affiliated with Lone Star.
• Assist with UNTHSC-TCOM third year medical student education.  Duties may include scheduling, maintaining records, preparation and distribution of evaluations, and proctoring of examinations.
• Coordinate medical student elective rotations with Assistant Education Coordinator-Graduate Medical Education.  Duties may include application processing, scheduling, maintaining records, preparation and distribution of evaluations, and coordination of housing.
•  Maintain affiliation agreements, files, schedules and checklists for students and residents participating in educational programs affiliated with Lone Star.
• Provide administrative support to Family Medicine and Obstetrics Faculty members.
• Prepare After Hours Clinic Provider Schedule.
• Assist with various schedules.
• Assist with residency program including but not limited to interviews, various residency software packages, documentation, and correspondence.
• Answer telephones.
• Process Lone Star mail.
• Order lunch for meetings.
• Room reservations.
• Order promotional items for resident recruiting.
• Assist and cross-cover for Medical Education Director and other Education Department staff.

   

  High School graduate (or GED) required.
