The Facilities Engineer is responsible for managing the activities of the maintenance staff and third-party vendors to maintain a reliable, secure and complaint site at Health-Ade. The Facilities manager establishes a continuous improvement and strengthens ability to troubleshoot programs, identify root causes and make appropriate suggestive corrective actions. This role is a critical member to the Production operations team and is responsible for maintaining the integrity of production quality and safety by ensuring that the production equipment, structural, and storage facilities, offices, restrooms, resting areas, parking lots, and transportation equipment are in compliance with Sanitary, GMP, Federal, State and local food protection standards, and Company programs. This position has direct responsibility for ensuring all work activities under its span of control are performance with attention to the highest standards of food quality, safe processes, compliance with the appropriate legal requirements and a focus on continuous process improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manages and supervises the activities of the Facilities Maintenance staff and third party vendors to maintain a reliable, secure and compliant site.

  • Provides Facilities support to QA, production staff and production leadership.

  • Provides suggestion and input capital projects to upgrade or expand facilities and equipment needed. Assists in planning, execution and documentation.

  • Helps ensure compliance of the site with a specific focus on Facilities operations.

  • Manages staff and coordinates Facility shutdowns to ensure preventive maintenance (PM) and repairs are completed in a timely manner, including all necessary documentation.

  • Ensures that department resources are available to promptly respond to and resolve Facility problems as needed at all times.

  • Manages third party service provider relationships; maintains a master contact list and ensures that appropriate service agreements are in place and vendors are appropriately trained and qualified.

  • Supports timely closure of facility related GMP deficiencies including audit observations, corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) and deviations.

  • Create, track, and report the facility/maintenance budget, assuming responsibility for budgeted figures, and continually thinking strategically to reassess areas to reduce costs, increase efficiencies, or generate additional revenue.

  • Oversee general facility operations, ensuring the facility is in the best working order and condition possible leveraging swift operations restoration.

  • Ensure that maintenance is performed, and deficiencies are identified and corrected within a timely manner.

  • Liaise with all other departments to ensure cross-function collaboration and delivery of the best employee experience possible.

  • Ensure compliance with laws, rules, regulations, contracts and leases pertinent to the facility operations.

  • Assists in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials which are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts. Develops information concerning previous operational failures and modifications. Uses judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seek sources to clarify information.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before group of customers or employees of organization.

Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commission, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software;; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software; Word Processing software; and Presentation software.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise and direct the work of Maintenance department.
