Description

The Vessel and Terminal Operations Security Engineer is responsible for establishing and executing the Maritime Cybersecurity Operational Technology (OT) and Information technology (IT) remediation strategy and program initiatives for vessels and terminals. The role will serve as a subject matter expert to leaders across lines of business regarding maritime cyber risks. He/she will oversee that systems located within or connected to shipboard environments consisting of OT navigation/bridge and marine engineering have been implemented and maintained, adhering to maritime cybersecurity guidelines and corporate information security standards. This key position will also influence the maritime industry by partnering with external organizations to improve and promote cybersecurity throughout the maritime industry. 

Responsibilities include the following activities:
•Direct various engineering disciplines including mechanical, electrical, and software to translate requirements into secure operational environments.
•Provide systems level modeling, analysis, and security design for variety of maritime systems.
•Support secure configuration of maritime OT and IT systems.
•Make crucial configuration changes on company systems in strict adherence to change management policies.
•Continuously ensure documentation is kept up to date after making system changes.
•Recommend infrastructure improvements to manager.
•Manage cybersecurity remediation or enhancement program to protect vessel and terminal operations.
•Define and track appropriate remediation plans to ensure that vessel and terminal OT vulnerabilities and defects are mitigated in a timely manner to reduce risk to systems and information. 
•Where potential system weaknesses are identified, partner with other team members within Information Security, IT and business units to implement controls.
•Leverage external information sharing forums to ensure that the maritime cybersecurity program is staying current of emerging industry practices. 
•Evaluate new technology and practices that will support and evolve the program.

Required Skills & Experience:
•Track record of developing secure maritime solutions for complex problems.
•Define and decompose system requirements and functional system requirements, documents specifications, identifies requirements flow down, design and architecture development, and requirements traceability.
•Ability to identify, prioritize and execute remediation activities based on risk to the overall shipboard enterprise.
•Demonstrates strong organization skills and time management. Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects while ensuring deadlines are met.

Desired Experience:
•Minimum 2 years as cybersecurity engineer on maritime products and solutions.
•Degree in Engineering discipline or at least 5 years of experience.
•Relevant cybersecurity certifications and focus on ICS/SCADA/OT.

Work Environment:
•Requires travel to offices, vessels, terminals, and 3rd party facilities to manage shipboard cybersecurity projects (30%).
