WHAT YOU WILL DO

In this position, will design and develop highly scalable, transactional distributed systems. You will be expected to possess creative and intelligent ideas on design patterns and designing applications best practices in Software Development using a Service Oriented Architecture. 

Responsibilities

  • Hands on development end to end development from concept to production
  • Build/enhance/maintain web services to support core application
  • Design and develop Cloud9’s scalable data and publish-subscribe technologies
  • Work with the engineering architecture teams in proof of concept projects to prove out new technologies
  • Design approaches to address scalability performance, and reliability of our platform
  • Design and implement appropriate data models

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience developing web services compliant to the OpenAPI (Swagger) specification
  • Experience in relational databases, NoSQL databases, and database design
  • Experience scaling in a cloud environment (AWS, GCP, etc.)
  • 5+ years software development experience in a structured engineering environment
  • Must be comfortable working with multiple code bases in multiple languages, such as Java, C#, and PHP
  • Experience in an Agile/Scrum development environment
  • Experience with CI/CD processes
  • Strong design knowledge of well-designed software architectures

Desired Skills

  • Experience with search solutions (eg, Elasticsearch, solr)
  • Experience in distributed publish-subscribe high speed messaging (eg, Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ZeroMQ)
  • Experience in distributed in-memory data grid technology (eg, Infinispan, Hazelcast, Redis, or Memcached)
  • Experience in IP and networking protocols and architectures
  • Experience in security, including security of networks, servers, and VoIP systems

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering is required, Master’s preferred
